My mom has been a customer my whole life and then some. Her engagement ring and wedding bands are from here, and growing up, she always told us kids we didn’t have an option to go elsewhere.

My fiancé proposed last year — he had a great experience and was able to get me exactly what I wanted. I’ve had my ring resized twice and prongs tightened as well. We purchased both our wedding bands from here as well. We’ve worked mainly with Miranda, who has been nothing short of great but the whole team is always friendly and welcoming. We also enjoy the shop puppy. Would recommend to anyone I know in the market for jewelry.

Family jeweler from a bygone era. Took a wrist watch in to have the band adjusted and chatted with the friendly proprietor while he did the work. Ten minutes and $10 later, the work was done and I have a new neighborhood store to file away for future reference.

Went into the Burtonsville location and it was a great experience. Had to have my engagement ring (that I’ve had for 11 years) resized. Gina was very friendly and knowledgeable; explaining how to correctly size and the process that the jeweler would do to resize the ring. The finished ring looked brand new and shiny! The jeweler did an amazing job, flawless. I love being able to wear my ring again!

I dropped my watch at home yesterday morning while putting it on. Broke one of the adjustable pins in the band. I went here, the gentleman fixed watch gratis while I waited. Thank you sincerely.

After buying an engagement ring elsewhere and finding out that my certificate did not match my ring, I walked into John Greenan & Sons right before they closed on a Friday looking for help. Despite me not buying the ring there, they dropped everything to help me. I was so impressed that when I later returned the ring, I went to them to get a new one. Walter was incredibly helpful and helped me find the three-stone setting that I was looking for. I ended up with a much better ring than my original for a similar price. My fiancée absolutely loves the ring and I am so glad that I got it where I did! They were also very accommodating when the ring needed to be resized, treating us like we were members of the family and resizing at no cost. I strongly recommend them.

Very professional and wonderful hospitality from the staff and manager. I treated myself to a nice necklace, Fine Enamels Sterling Silver. I wish there were more locations or that they were known more. This particular location however is top notch. Hopefully one day in the future I'll come back and buy me another quality piece of jewelry. They also have some nice discounts right now for anyone interested during quarantine.

Came by for a watch adjustment. The jeweller was very friendly. He adjusted on the spot at no cost. Awesome old school establishment!

Quick and personalized service! They were great! When I went in for a pin replacement in a watch band, they finished in less than 5 minutes and didn't charge me anything at all. I would definitely go back there for some more hard core jewelry shopping.

Great experience from the moment I stepped foot in the door. Family run bussiness and they treat you just like you are part of the family. All jewelry work is done in house and at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend and will be coming back soon.

I bought my fiancé’s engagement ring from the Greenan’s and they helped me through the whole process. They are extremely professional and I would 100% recommend their service. The ring was fairly customized and I was buying from out of town. That didn’t stop them from providing a great product.

I had a small bag of jewelry of my mother-in-law's after she passed. They said they would look at it. I worked with Walter to sort through what was "valuable" and what wasn't. He was respectful and thorough, and answered my questions well. I walked out of there very satisfied with his help. It is best to go when they are not busy, as this is a tedious task. I called first. I walked into Greenan & Sons in Silver Spring looking for an engagement ring. Greenan was recommended to me by a friend who had recently done business at their Beltsville location.
Knowing nothing about jewelry, diamonds, or engagement rings, I was nervous to say the least. I quickly linked up with Damon Greenan and explained that I was in the market, but didn't really know for what. He sat with me for over an hour, explaining diamond grading, setting options, and showing my a few examples of each. I really appreciated the time and care he took to make the process easier on me and help me make an educated decision.
After learning a bit more about my girlfriend, he began to suggest settings and diamond cuts based on the type of person she was. After a few more visits, we finally settled on a beautiful diamond for the setting we had selected earlier, and I ordered the ring. Sizing the ring was another concern for me; Damon made an educated guess based on my girlfriend's size and assured me we could resize later on if necessary. He was right on the money with the sizing and the ring he produced was beautiful enough to bring tears to my fiance's eyes. She still describes it as "perfect" and "exactly what she would have wanted".
This is a great family business and Damon really takes interest in his clients. My fiance and I will definitely be back to do business with Greenan for our wedding bands. If you are in the market for an engagement ring in the DC metro area, don't buy until you visit Greenan.

I went in on a Saturday and was helped immediately. The woman working changed theee of my watch batteries and adjusted the links all in the same day. They did a great job and it was also affordable!

It's a refreshing experience walking into a jeweler and not feeling taken advantage of. That happened here with regards to my wedding bands and I haven't stopped coming back a decade later. I'll continue to see the father and son team here for all of my jewelry needs.
